School Athletics’
Best Kept Secret

Join our team of athletic directors to help with, and be compensated for, sports tech consulting projects in the school athletics space. Big picture, and true to K12’s mission, enlisting direct help from active and retired administrators through the AD Think Tank keeps the needs and objectives of our nation’s school sports leaders at the center of tech innovation.

I’m very excited about the opportunity to be a part of the K12 Sports Tech AD Think Tank. From the moment I joined the team, I felt welcomed and valued. They have provided me with the opportunity to learn about new innovative technology in the space that potentially could have a major impact on my program and others across the country. As a forward-thinker, I’m thankful for this and for the ability to provide feedback on those solutions – and be paid for my insight and time. I would absolutely recommend K12 Sports Tech and the AD Think Tank to my fellow athletic administrators and to all companies looking to enter or gain traction in the school sports industry.

Darren Howard, District AD, Oswego HS IL, 2023 National AD of the Year, AD Think Tank - Champion Member

Being part of the K12 AD Think Tank has provided me the opportunity to learn about some of the new up-and-coming tech within the community, as well as provide future tech developers insight on the current landscape and needs of the high school athletic director. Communication has always been positive and the feedback provided to vendors has always felt valued.

Jeremey Cryan, Athletic Director at Oak Lawn Community High School in Oak Lawn, IL

K12 Sports Tech’s mission is to connect technology and athletic administrators and make the day to day easier. The goal I have as an athletic administrator is to continue to make our profession better, and the marriage between tech and athletic administration is intensifying, it’s needed…so to help navigate those waters, that’s what K12 Sports Tech is all about. They want to make our job and our day to day easier.

The AD Think Tank is an opportunity for companies to pitch a product, a process, or a piece of technology to the high school space, and not only that but they value the feedback given by athletic directors in education based athletics. It’s well worth your time and you get a little compensation for it. It’s been beneficial for me to see what’s coming down the pipeline in this high school space.

ADs, I hope you take some time to get to know what k12 is all about, and see how they can benefit both you and our profession.

Dustin Smith, Executive Director of Athletics, Broken Arrow Public Schools, AD Think Tank - Champion Member

The AD Think Tank is doing incredible work, pioneering innovative solutions and strategies that are transforming the landscape of athletic administration. K12 Sports Tech is excelling in connecting Athletic Directors with vendors, fostering relationships that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of sports programs. This collaboration is not only benefiting the administrators but also significantly improving the experiences of student-athletes across the nation and around the globe.

Rob Rafeh, Athletic Director, Marin Academy in San Rafael, CA

Overall, my experience with K12 Sports Tech has been nothing short of amazing. One of the standout features of K12 is its supportive community. As an ambassador, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication of K12’s team in assisting athletic administrators and coaches. The regular communication and personalized support provided to these leaders create a nurturing and collaborative environment, fostering the growth of successful athletic programs. I am proud to be an ambassador for K12 Sports Tech and look forward to continuing to support its mission of enhancing athletic programs nationwide.

Ashley Paulson, Athletic Director, Grafton High School, MA

This experience has been extraordinarily refreshing in a profession that can be stagnant. The positive, friendly, outside-the-box approach offers an important connection for ADs, Administrators, and Coaches to a specific technology. While serving as District AD for 29,000 students, I was always looking for people like Abby and Alec. They understand the importance of this work and have the vision and right culture in place to help and facilitate cutting-edge technology to propel Athletic Departments in a more efficient direction.

Mat Parker, Retired District Athletic Director of Rockford Public Schools in Rockford, IL

So far in my limited experience, the mission of AD Think Tank has been communicated well and supported by other AD’s. Being able to get a look at new technology that could help our athletic programs before they become public has been great. The company I met with truly listened to the feedback I provided and understood the concerns that I had. Any tech that can help us is going to be great so being a part of the process to bring this tech to us is amazing.

Tony Millard, CMAA, Athletic Director, Oswego East High School, IL

The K12 Sports Tech team has created a powerful bridge that connects tech industry innovators to Athletic Directors – those of us doing the work on the ground who can most benefit from continuous innovation. Our ability to give direct feedback to tech leaders helps guide them toward what will work for our schools, coaches, athletes, and families. In my experience, the tech companies in the AD Think Tank have truly valued the insights we provide. We also get the benefit of discovering potential opportunities for growth through the relationships we develop with tech leaders. A bonus for me is experiencing the servant leadership, professionalism, and vision of the K12 Sports Tech team.
